Victory series. AE Sextans, light series, Central Italy. Obv. Head of Mercury right; above, two pellets. Rev. Prow right; above, Victory with wreath flying right/ ROMA; below, two pellets. Cr. 61/6. 3.21 g. 18.00 mm. Scarce. In excellent condition for issue. Glossy olive green patina, gently smoothed. Good VF. Here the Victory is depicted flying from heavens with a garland and headbands as by Ennius : "...volans de caelo cum corona et taeniis " (Trag. fr. 67 Jocelin).
